Pocket PT Reader
and SV Controller
The Pocket PT Reader and SV Controller was developed to come up with a simple version of the more advanced Propulsion Diagnostics Unit, without datalogging function. It avoids using custom machined components in favor of cheap OTS parts and 3D printed parts. It takes advantage of the remarkable fidelity of translucent resin printed parts to make a clean and somewhat attractive device, calling back to the days when electronics were all encased in semi-clear plastic. The device is free for people to download and build themselves, and makes a great tool for everyday rocket propulsion work. Pack it in a pouch and never leave the house without it!
The Pocket PT Reader is tuned to read 0.5-4.5V PTs with two standard Molex connectors, or one lever nut connector for plain wires. The leads can be optionally upgraded with 100K resistors between signal and ground to filter floating voltages. The Pocket SV Controller can energize low power 12V or 24V devices like solenoid valves or low current e-matches.
